2. Hosting and server logs

This website runs on a server administered by me in a German data center operated by STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin. STRATO provides the data-center and server infrastructure; I manage the application, content and operation myself.

When the website is accessed, the server processes technically necessary connection data. This may include the IP address, date and time, requested address, referrer, browser and operating system, HTTP status and amount of data transferred. Processing is necessary to deliver the website, identify errors and defend against attacks.

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interests are the secure, stable and error-free operation of the website. Server and security logs are generally deleted after no more than seven days. They are retained for longer only where a specific security incident requires this for investigation or legal enforcement.

3. DNS through Cloudflare

Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA, is used exclusively as the authoritative DNS service for the domain. The website does not use the Cloudflare proxy, CDN, Web Analytics, Turnstile or other Cloudflare services in the path of website requests. Content requests therefore go directly to the server operated in Germany.

When resolving DNS, Cloudflare processes technical DNS query data on its global network. The purpose is reliable, tamper-resistant resolution of the domain. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; the legitimate interest lies in the availability and security of the domain. Processing in the United States cannot be ruled out. Cloudflare provides for the EU Standard Contractual Clauses under Article 46(2)(c) GDPR in its data processing addendum.

4. Cookies, browser storage and analytics

This website does not set cookies and uses neither local storage nor session storage. No analytics, marketing, profiling or tracking services are used. A consent banner is therefore not required.

5. Local media and fonts

Images, videos, icons and fonts are loaded exclusively from this website's own server. No connection to Google Fonts or other external media providers is established when pages are viewed.

6. Contact by email

The website does not contain a contact form. If you contact me by email, I process your sender and contact details, the content of the message and the associated technical metadata in order to handle your inquiry. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; my legitimate interest is responding to inquiries. Where the inquiry concerns entering into or performing a contract, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR also applies.

Inquiries are deleted once they have been fully handled and no statutory retention obligations or legitimate reasons for continued storage apply.

7. External links

The website links to services including GitHub, Instagram, LinkedIn and smilch.com. Merely loading this website does not transfer data to those providers. Their respective privacy policies apply only when you follow a link.

8. Recipients and international transfers

Recipients of technically necessary data may include STRATO as infrastructure and hosting provider and Cloudflare for DNS resolution. Apart from the possible processing by Cloudflare described above, no intentional transfer of personal data to third countries takes place.

9. Your rights

Where the statutory requirements are met, you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
